• abdominal fullness, feeling of heaviness, sticky tongue coating: Cold-Dampness Invading the Spleen.
• abdominal fullness, feeling of heaviness, sticky-yellow coating: Damp-Heat Invading the Spleen.
• abdominal pain, borborygmi, diarrhea: Small Intestine Deficient and Cold.
• abdominal pain, diarrhea with mucus and blood in the stools: Damp-Heat in the Large Intestine.

• stabbing chest pain, purple lips, tongue: Blood stasis of the pericardium.

• sudden abdominal pain, diarrhea, feeling of cold: Cold invading the Large Intestine.
• sudden pain in epigastrium, vomiting, feeling cold, deep-tight pulse: Cold Invading the Stomach.
• sudden severe abdominal pain, constipation, vomiting, Deep-Wiry pulse. This pattern is very similar to the previous one and it differs in so far as it is always an acute pattern: Small Intestine-Qi tied.
• sudden swelling of face, aversion to wind, floating-slippery pulse: Invasion of Lungs by Wind-Water.
• symptoms: alternation of constipation and diarrhea, abdominal distension and pain: Rebellious Liver-Qi Invading the Spleen.
• symptoms: breathlessness, asthma, fullness of hypochondrium, headache, wiry pulse: Liver-Fire Insulting the Lungs.
• tendency to hit or scold people, uncontrolled laughter or crying, agitation, shouting, muttering to oneself, mental depression and dullness; in severe cases aphasia and coma: Phlegm-Fire Harassing the Heart.

• tiredness in the morning, uncomfortable feeling in the epigastrium, Empty pulse on the Stomach position: Stomach-Qi Deficiency.
